​Jim is a long time member of the Jacksonville Artists' Guild. 

Jim's Artists Statement:
​The environment has always been a special interest of mine.  Florida became my adopted state in the early seventies when I set the criteria for buying environmentally endangered lands for the state.
 
I paint to capture the enduring beauty and strength of Florida’s fragile, natural, historical and cultural treasures.    I paint in all mediums but I particularly enjoy the  liquid, lasting, and spontaneous qualities of watercolors.   I would describe my style as fanciful realism. 
 
I am an award-winning artist, Naval Academy graduate, and Vietnam veteran, and I live in San Marco with my wife, Mimi, also an artist.
