JAG Featured Member Artist

As an Ohio-born artist and design major at Ohio State University, Marilyn Antram had the good fortune to be able to spend her early years in the vibrant, creative arena of American Greetings in Cleveland. After working there, and then for many years as a freelance designer at her first career of graphic design, she felt the call to leave the computer and pursue fine art. She is a member of, and treasurer for, the First Coast Plein Air Painters, Jacksonville Artists Guild, St. Augustine Art Association, and Pines and Palms Artists in Thomasville, GA. She has a special fondness for the coastal US, and of course, all the glory of nature is a prime subject. Going to the many beautiful state parks around the country and in Florida has been a must for her where she tries to capture the beauty of the scene for the viewer. She paints both in the studio or "en plein air" where she is absolutely connected to her painting in the most intimate way. When people look at her paintings she wants them to want to be there, or if the painting is on the more abstract side, to be captivated by it and drawn into it. Marilyn has participated in many, many juried shows, several solo exhibits and has shows upcoming on a regular basis in and around Jacksonville, FL.
